About the Team

The Amazons

The Amazons run for fun, health, happiness and - whenever we can - for charity. We run

together hand in hand to carry the beacon of friendship and love. We run for awareness of

breast cancer.

We began in 2016 following my diagnosis and treatment for breast cancer in 2015. Rehabilitation got me - Elizabeth Perks - back on the road and gave me a taste for sport. I wanted to give something back. So I and my daughter Charlotte-Rose decided to get in training for the Vienna Frauenlauf 2016 and raise money to aid support for breast cancer sufferers and survivors. We chose Europa Donna Austria. My dearest sisters who helped me get through and out the other side of breast cancer, liked the idea too and joined. The Amazons were born.

First Pink Paddling Team in Austria!

Our aim is to strengthen breast cancer awareness. At the same time, we want to make it possible to pursue dragonboat paddling as a rehabilitation sport following breast cancer. All breast cancer sufferers and survivors are welcome regardless of their physical fitness, their age, gender or personal background.
